Mels is a municipality south of Walensee. From the village we drive along the river Seez up to Alp Walabüz at 1359 meters above sea level (entire trip from Zurich 1h20′, no extra costs for cable cars). In the basin with its impressive waterfalls we find good places to practice the alphorn (). The small restaurant Bäsebeiz Walabüz offers some snacks and the possibility to buy fresh alpine cheese. Vegans need to bring their own food.

On the way back we can make a stop at Alp Siez and visit the cheese dairy. If you want, you can also spend the night there and hike the next day on your own over the Foopass to Elm.
