Restaurant Halsegg at Sattel is only a 50′ drive by minibus from Zurich. We are still in the foothills of the Alps here, but at 1321 meters above sea level and with an enchanting Alpine panorama. The excursion is suitable for those who do not feel like walking in the mountains nor cable cars and want to devote themselves entirely to playing the alphorn. The restaurant has a nice playground and rabbits – so a good place for leaving your kids while you practice.
We find good opportunities for this near the restaurant – especially at sunset. If you are interested in the mountain fortifications of the Swiss Army, you will find exciting relics in the nearby Dufour Museum – albeit only open on the first weekend of each month. Note that Halsegg tends to get crowded at weekends with good weather.
