Älggialp is the geographical center of Switzerland. It’s a bit too far for an Alphorn Day from Zürich but an option for our Alphorn on the Go, an Alphorn Day from Lucerne or a multi-day Overnight Alphorn.

It offers two platforms. The lower Älggialp can be reached directly by our minivan via a slightly scaring mountain road. There is a restaurant – run by an Austrian – that also offers the possibility to spend the night. Around the tourist facility, exactly in the centre of Switzerland, we find some good places to play the alphorn.

For the upper level we need to climb some 200 meters of altitude (hike of approx. 30 minutes). There we play around beautiful Seefeldsee and enjoy the soft echo returned by the steep mountain faces.
